脳は特定の対象物に特化した脳領域を発達させていることがあるが、これはポケモンプレイヤーたちにも言えるらしい。ある研究によると、子どものころ熱心に任天堂の「ポケットモンスター」シリーズをプレイしていた人たちは、数百種のポケモンを区別するのに特化した独自の脳領域を発達させているというのだ。
